Teaching Africa Day is an interactive and child-friendly event geared specifically toward educating children and youth about Africa. The goal is to provide a much needed collective platform for vendors with the best quality books, videos, games, programs and other resources that teach about Africa and its rich and vibrant heritage. We sat down with Gathoni Kamau from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art, and Samuel Suraphel from Mansa CoLabs in Silver Spring, MD to learn more about this year’s event and how the DC area is particularly rich in African entrepreneurship and innovation.
[Our interview with Gathoni and Samuel kicks off at 59:08 – September 18, 2019]
