Sitali has been one of the most intriguing voices shaping the musical landscape of Washington, DC indie music for many years, and it was our great pleasure to chat with him about his life and creative process on the show this week. He treated us to two brand new tracks from his upcoming album “Golden One” (recorded right next door at Airshow Studios!) and lit up the airwaves with a live, acoustic rendition of his signature tune “Black Star.” Zambian by heritage, but with a life that has meandered through New York, Cairo, Moscow, London and Seattle before landing him in DC, Sitali draws on all his experience and exposure to create music difficult to categorize and even harder to ignore. You can catch Sitali playing around town with legendary DC drummer Juju House, a decades-old partnership that sounds incredible both in the studio and on stage.
