Anna Mwalagho is in constant motion! We had Anna on the show back in October 2016 to discuss her work as a Kenyan poet, storyteller and bandleader weaving the sounds and stories of Kenya into her experience as an expat on the DC scene. But Anna keeps moving, and so we had to have her back to catch up about a new African children’s album “Shukrani (Grateful)” inspired by her young son, and her upcoming appearance as a comedian at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem! We talked about her evolution as an artist, her move from music into comedy, how she goes about writing her material and the struggles inherent in the life of an independent artist. Enjoy!
