Joy A. Johnson is an educator, author, business owner & beauty entrepreneur who overcame difficult life struggles with an abundance of positivity and hustle. After losing her white-collar job as a young mother, she took classes at the Small Business Development Center to learn the inside game of running a successful enterprise. She opened her first salon a decade ago, Nails & Faces of Joy, which has since transitioned to a mobile unit offering the full array of beauty services and in particular services tailored to diabetic clients. Her book “Joy the Key to Entrepreneurial Happiness” condenses all her earned wisdom and knowledge for the aspiring millennial business owner. We chatted with Joy and her mentor and friend, journalist Yvonne Medley about all this and more.
