Jojo Abot is a NYC-based, Ghanaian singer-songwriter who brings a fearless artistry to her music and multi-media presence. She has been rising fast on the indie-Africa scene, currently in residence with NYC’s New Museum, and bringing her unique vision to Summerstage, GlobalFest and as support act for Lauryn Hill’s 2017 tour. Jojo was gracious enough to take our call as she prepped for a Kennedy Center performance that evening. We chatted about her creative process, themes in her songwriting, the independent arts scene blossoming in Accra, and life in general. It was no surprise to find her an open, curious, positive person; all the best ones are like that! Check out Jojo’s website below for more music and info.
